Your Presence Matters
We invite you to join us for a solemn procession and candlelight vigil in remembrance of all the Palestinian journalists killed by the Israeli occupation force.
About the event
Palestinian journalists have been facing unspeakable threats and dangers in the midst of the ongoing genocide perpetrated by lsrael.
143 Palestinian journalists have been killed since Oct 2023. Such brutal and unprecedented silencing of journalists is indicative of an authoritarian regime, not a democracy.
143 journalists killed in 8 months with little to no acknowledgement from our Australian news and media, who continue to dehumanise and demonise the Palestinian people and their supporters. It’s immoral, unethical and shameful. It has caused irreparable damage in the public’s trust in the media’s ability and willingness to provide unbiased information and news about our world.
Let’s light up the night in honour of all these brave journalists who have paid the ultimate price for wanting to share the truth with the world.
Please share this invitation with your friends, colleagues, family and community members.

Tales of the Olive Trees (fomerly WeAreNotNumbersAus) meet and work on stolen lands of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and respect that sovereignty of those lands was never ceded. We pay respect to Elders, past and present, and acknowledged that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and the Palestinian people’s struggle for dignity and justice are one and the same.
